The pandemic caught professional communicators in the European policy arena by surprise, and all of us have had the difficult task of learning fast, experimenting, and adapting to be heard in this unfamiliar, suddenly more digital world.

Savion Ray, a creative communications agency based in the heart of Brussels, spoke with more than 20 EU communication experts and secretary generals of industry associations to determine what the future of communications will look like. Through these conversations, they gathered enough insights to discern the big picture and define the 5 overarching trends that will shape EU communications in 2022, and possibly beyond.
The interviews were carried across a broad variety of sectors from food to plastics, healthcare and energy and confirm five main trends that drove associations’ communication during COVID-19.
The Art Direction of this project was based around the agency’s own brand identity, carrying it a bit further - I opted for vintage styled collages to depict some subjective concepts and ideas and to bring a hint of humour, whilst respecting the nature of the report’s content.

The report was distributed across the EU bubble, and Savion Ray rolled out a digital launch event in which took part dynamic discussions on post-COVID-19 communications changes.
Collages and artwork present in this publication were inspired by the astonishing work of Klawe Rzeczy.
